Yellow diamonds occupy a precise point in the colour spectrum — warm enough to read as coloured, brilliant enough to behave like diamonds. Retouching them demands constant calibration: the warmth of the colour must remain vibrant without tipping into orange, while the brilliance and dispersion of the stones has to be fully present. Oversaturation destroys the diamond. Under-saturation loses the colour entirely.
This project covered the full range of Jacob & Co's yellow diamond pieces — bracelets, earrings, and brooches in multiple cuts, from cushions to radiant-cuts and briolettes. Each cut behaves differently in light. Across the full series, the visual harmony of the collection had to be maintained: warm, brilliant, and consistent from the first piece to the last.
